These are only important points or summery of points for pressure safety valve in-service inspection and should not be assumed as pressure safety
valve inspection procedure.
pressure safety valve inspection procedure is comprehensive document which need to cover inspection methods to be employed, equipment and material
to be used, qualification of inspection personnel involved and the sequence of the inspection activities as minimum.
You may use following content as summery of points for in-service inspection of pressure safety valve only.
1. Determination pressure safety valve inspection interval based API STD 510 and API RP 576 requirements
2. Inspection of inlet and outlet piping after pressure safety valve removal for any fouling
3. Inspection of pressure safety valve charge and discharge nozzles for possible deposit and corrosion products
4. Taking care for proper handling of pressure safety valves from unit to the valve shop. The detail of handling and transportation instruction is
provided in API RP 576.
5. Controlling of seals for being intact when the valves arrived to the valve shop
6. Making as received POP test and recording the relieving pressure
7. If the POP pressure is higher than the set pressure the test need to be repeated and if in the second effort it was near to the set pressure it is
because of deposit.
8. If in the second effort it was not opened near to the set pressure either it was set wrongly or it was changed during the operation
9. If the pressure safety valve was not opened in 150% of set pressure it should be considered as stuck shut.

The water supply is back to normal after water break, the water level rises and flushes pump base, mine pump can automatically drain. When drain line
brake valve opening locked tonnage is larger than water inflow of mine, mine pump can automatically adjust flow rate and will not interrupt draining,
and does not stop and open pump. Therefore, it has become new model of automatic draining.
Sprinkler is the watershoot extracted from air dome of top bump body.
Sprinkler is the channel of draining leaky water of axle hole of pump body promptly outside pump body (see picture one). Sprinkler has two or more,
they can make the pressure in air chamber cavity always keep the same with atmospheric pressure outside cavity. Therefore, do not block the sprinkler.
Some people do not read operation instruction and mistake Sprinkler to be main watershoot, cause the accident, and make a joke. It should be a
warning.
Oil storage chamber is also at the bottom of vertical motor.
Its greasy surface is higher than upper end ring of mechanical seal. It can make the lubrication of mechanical seal, cooling conditions better. If
lubricating oil or water leaks from mechanical seal to motor, Sprinkler can accept and drain with dew.
In the same side of junction box, on the outerwall of motor, first install Oil storage chamber relief safety valve B (see picture one), When high pressure of main cavity transfers into Oil storage chamber or
oil temperature rises unusually, automatic and timely relief safety. First increase pouring tube beside Safety valve B and inspect oil level or
supplement motor oil.
Safety valve: safety valve A and safety valve B are the automatic relief safety protecting device set up first to eliminate hidden dangers of motor
explosion.
In the past, mechanical seal of old submersible pump easily goes into the water, after motor overload or fault, winding overheating makes main cavity
produce high temperature, make water going into the main cavity of high-pressure steam, often cause motor explosion accidents (cause panic in some
mines). To prevent closed motor explosion, the new mine Pump installs sprinkler relief safety valve A on the outerwall of motor.when doing Explosion resistance experiment, main cavity of motor injects flammable gas, after
lighting and exploding , Most gas flame cools after going through Flameproof surface of bearing cover (the first group), through bearings, enter
sprinkler from via hole (A); small gas flames through the Flameproof surface of flameproof round pipe fittings and flameproof cylinder set up in the
round hole (b) , enter sprinkler After cooling , And then drain automatically and safely from sprinkler relief safety valve A outside Motor. In
common use, if overheat, the high-pressure gas produced by winding will carry out automatic and timely relief safety pressure along the path above,

Safety valves are an arrangement or mechanism to release a substance from the concerned system in the event of pressure or temperature exceeding a
particular preset limit. The systems in the context may be boilers, steam boilers, pressure vessels or other related systems. As per the mechanical
arrangement, the safety valve get fitted into the bigger picture (part of the bigger arrangement) called as PSV or PRV that is pressure safety or pressure relief
valves.
This type of safety mechanism was largely implemented to counter the problem of accidental explosion of steam boilers. Initiated in the working of a
steam digester, there were many methodologies which were then accommodated during the phase of industrial revolution. And since then this safety
mechanism has come a long way and now accommodates various other aspects.
These aspects like applications, performance criteria, ranges, nation based standards (countries like United States, European Union, Japan, South
Korea provide different standards) etc. manage to differentiate or categorize this safety valve segment. So, there can be many different ways in which
these safety valves get differentiated but a common range of bifurcation is as follows: ASME valves Lift safety valve Flow controlled valve Balanced

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) I tap is a type of safety valve which opens with respect to 3 percent and 4 percent of pressure (ASME code for pressure vessel applications) while
ASME VIII valve opens at 10 percent over pressure and closes at 7 percent. Lift safety valves get further classified as low-lift safety valves and
full lift safety valves. The flow control valves regulate the pressure or flow of a fluid whereas a balanced valve is used to minimize the effects
induced by pressure on operating characteristics of the valve in context.
A power operated valve is a type of pressure relief valve is which an external power source is also used to relieve the pressure. A
proportional-relief valve gets opened in a relatively stable manner as compared to increasing pressure. There are 2 types of direct-loaded safety
valves, first being safety valve diaphragms and second: bellows valves. Safety valve diaphragms are valves which spring for the protection of effects
of the liquid membrane while bellows valves provide an arrangement where the parts of rotating elements and sources get protected from the effects of
the liquid via bellows.
