Vatac Gate valve

Vatac Gate valves are compact designed and properly machined, which is completely in accordance with most updated International Standards of API 600, ASME B16.34, DIN 3202, GOST or equivalents Vatac offers a broad line of Cast & forged gate valve in both B.B & P.S designs.





A cast gate valve, also known as a sluice valve, is a valve that opens by lifting a round or rectangular gate/wedge out of the path of the fluid. The distinct feature of a knife gate valve is the sealing surfaces between the gate and seats are planar. The gate faces can form a wedge shape or they can be parallel. Typical slab gate valve should never be used for regulating flow, unless they are specifically designed for that purpose. On opening the gate valve, the flow path is enlarged in a highly nonlinear manner with respect to percent of opening. This means that flow rate does not change evenly with stem travel. Also, a partially open gate disk tends to vibrate from the fluid flow. Most of the flow change occurs near shutoff with a relatively high fluid velocity causing disk and seat wear and eventual leakage if used to regulate flow. Typical gate valves are designed to be fully opened or closed. When fully open, the typical gate valve has no obstruction in the flow path, resulting in very low friction loss.

In services requiring frequent cycling or with high pressure/temperature variations, live loading extends the service life between maintenance periods by requiring less frequent packing gland adjustments. The types of slab gate valve

The types of Gate Valve include valves with Through Conduit Slab, Through Conduit Expanding, Solid Wedge and Flexible wedge gates. Choosing an appropriate Gate Valve is dependent on the duty and the sealing characteristics demanded by the service; Through Conduit slab gate valve depend on the flowline pressure to effect a seal; whereas Expanding and Wedge Gate Valves are positive shut off valves that force the Gate onto the seats to effect a seal through increasing the torque and the thrust. In particular, the Flexiwedge is used for simple shut off duties where high temperatures are involved and to prevent the gate from jamming.

Through Conduit Gate Valves designed to API 6D and 6FA are custom manufactured by Vatac and supplied with Flanged, Butt Weld, Socket Weld, Hub Connectors, Compact Flange or other proprietary connections. Pressure ratings up to ANSI #2500Lb, temperature ranges from -46 to +175 Deg C and bore sizes from 2” to 42 . All Vatac Through Conduit Gate Valves have their sealing surfaces hard faced with Tungsten Carbide and can be configured with either Pneumatic or Hydraulic Actuators. Through conduit gate valve with a diversion hole is equal to that of pipelines of the same specification whose characteristics is shown per hereunder per centum diagram. Welded Nickel Seats

The eccentric plug valve Seat is produced by machining a groove in the Cast Iron body, followed by welding a Nickel seating surface in the groove. After welding, the area is re-machined to provide a smooth, corrosion resistant surface for the plug to seat against. This seat is a minimum of 3mm thick after machining. In addition to the corrosion resistance of the nickel, the welding process creates a hardened zone that aids the seat s ability to resist abrasion.



Oil Impregnated Stainless Steel Bearings

The Eccentric Plug Valve has 300 series stainless steel bearings, making them highly corrosion resistant. The bearing is formed by pressing powdered stainless steel into the bearing shape, which is then impregnated with a lubricant, providing maximum lubricity.



P.T.F.E. Grit Seals.

To prevent grit and debris from damaging the bearing, the Eccentric Plug Valve has P.T.F.E. (Teflon) seals above and below the plug. These seals are held in compression between the plug body and bonnet, sealing the critical bearing area from the ingress of dirt and grit.



Self-Adjusting Stem Seals

Two self-adjusting, wear compensating, pressure energised ‘U’ cup seals are used to ensure a positive stem seal. An ‘O’ ring inside the ‘U’ cup provides the necessary pre-loading to guarantee sealing under low pressure, while the expansion of the ‘U’ cup at higher pressures prevents leakage. This packing is especially well suited to buried, submerged and hard to get to applications. In the unlikely event of stem seal failure these seals can be easily replaced without removing the bonnet from the valve.

Global Valve and Controls trunnion design ball valves incorporate the use of upper and lower supports (GVC trunnion plate system) to retain the ball under pressure. Global Valve and Controls API 6D trunnion ball valves have a secondary sealant injection system for stem seals and seats in the event of providing a temporary seal to an otherwise damaged area. The Global Valve and Controls trunnion ball valve design using the upper and lower trunnion plate system essentially doubles the safety and reliability of a standard trunnion ball valve.



The Global Valve and Controls trunnion plate system feature is standard on all Global Valve and Controls API 6D trunnion ball valves from 4” and up (ANSI 600 through 2500). It permits the valve to be installed in either direction, since the trunnion prevents the ball from shifting -- or worse, blowing out – under high pressure applications.



Another important benefit of the Global Valve and Controls trunnion plate system design is that it allows the ball to only rotate a quarter turn with no hysteresis thus more control and reliability under extreme applications.



Global Valve and Controls standard API 6D trunnion ball valves use materials in accordance with NACE MR0175/ISO15156. In order to ensure compliance customers must provide application specific operating conditions.

The trunnion ball valve is used for cutting or connecting the medium in various pipelines of class150-class2500 and pn16-pn320. It can be suitable for various media such as water, steam, oil, liquefied gas, natural gas, coal gas, nitric acid, acetic acid, oxidizing media, urea and etc. It is widely used in such industries as chemical industry, petroleum, natural gas, metallurgy and etc. The driving modes of the trunnion ball valve include worm and worm gear driving, manual driving, pneumatic driving and electric driving. The trunnion ball valves generally adopt flange connection, and butt-welding connection is also adopted. The seat can be soft seal seat or metal hard seal seat.
